Systems Analyst


JOB SUMMARY


The Systems Analyst III under the direction of the IT Team Lead is a hands-on role that supports and provides solutions that contribute to the success of daily business operations.The systems analyst is responsible for deploying, troubleshooting and maintaining OEM Software and associated infrastructure including printers, wireless infrastructure, RF scanners, and any associated components. The Systems Analyst III will be required to perform application, server, and database maintenance, assist in data analysis and creation of reports, and may also be required to perform some small project management duties.The person in this position will demonstrate an ability to plan and prioritize work to meet commitments aligned with organizational goals.


Essential Functions


(In order of importance)


1. Responsible for deploying, maintaining and troubleshooting core business applications including application servers, associated hardware, endpoints, databases, and deploying Manhattan's WMOS2015, LM2015, SCI Reporting and analytics, and slotting running on LINUX, Oracle, JBOSS technology stack platform.


2. Serves as a contact for production support issues; Reports technical issues to PDC IT Team Leader. Monitors issue through to resolution and escalation. Tracks issues, recommends solutions for improvement and implements approved solutions.


3. Develops expertise in Parts Distribution Center (PDC) warehouse operations and maintains PDC application's functionality, user workflows, and business processes focusing on continuous improvement.


4. Responsible for installing and configuring software on client PC's as required for systems access.


5. Responsible for performing system maintenance, monitoring system activity, gather system statistics, follow up on reported errors and alarms.


6. Responsible for providing after-hours on call support for production emergencies and escalating issues.


7. Proactively seeks systems improvements by performing regular performance monitoring and capacity analysis; recommend systems upgrades and hardening as appropriate.


8. Responsible to Document all issues and resolution steps using the help desk ticketing system.



  1. Responsible for maintaining inventory of all hardware and software resources and parts.

  2. Oversee and work with outside vendors and other business unit as needed.

  3. Responsible to lead and participate in project activities such as software rollouts, systems upgrades and hardware replacement.

  4. Responsible for application troubleshooting / escalated desktop support responsibilities where applicable

  5. Responsible for mainframe session troubleshooting and escalating and supporting mainframe outages.

  6. Responsible for printer & output device service & support.

  7. Deliver business value using creative and effective approaches.


Other duties may be assigned.(The desirable, but not necessary, usually supplementary aspects of the job.)



  1. Develop test cases and plans to complete the unit testing. Perform functional testing. Be able to translate test failures into solid resolutions and Supports testing and training for end users of the Manhattan WMS system.

  2. Deploy, maintain and troubleshoot future Supply Chain Inventory management, Inventory optimization, planning and forecasting software or ERP suite that will replace existing mainframe system.

  3. Assist in the design and configuration of complex systems with a focus on best practices for scalability, supportability, ease of maintenance, and system performance.

  4. Willingness to work on-call as needed, typically supporting multiple shifts and weekends as required.

  5. Willingness to work on the shop floor as needed for IT support.

QUALIFICATIONS


Education and Experience requirements:


Requires a Bachelor's degree in MIS, CIS, Computer Science or related field and 4 years minimum experience working in manufacturing or distribution industry using applications and technology to execute operations or possess an equivalent combination of education and experience.

    years of experience working in Windows and/or Linux server environments with extensive knowledge of systems and application server maintenance.

  • 4
    years of experience in administering and managing an enterprise level application/s. Extensive knowledge of systems and application server maintenance.

  • Warehouse Management functional skills or concepts in most areas including receiving, putaway, wave, allocation, pick/pack, shipping, cycle count, tasking, and understands WM architecture.

  • Familiarity with networking and location technologies including LAN, WLAN, RFID.

  • Experience writing and executing TSQL statements to perform application database maintenance or generate reports.

  • Excellent customer service skills

  • Self-starter with dedication to quality and ability to work with minimal supervision

  • Ability to manage multiple tasks and prioritize work accordingly

  • Experience working in a structured, process-driven environment utilizing an ITSM ticket tool

  • Solid knowledge of TCP/IP networking, and related network services (i.e. DNS, SMTP, DHCP, etc.)

  • Some knowledge of Active Directory concepts and administration

  • Some UNIX experience with the ability to manage and troubleshoot Solaris and Linux environments preferred

  • Programming experience (VB, .NET, JAVA) a plus but not required

CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS


Certifications specific to System Administrator area of focus are a strong advantage but not required (MCSE/MCITP, CCNA, etc.)

The associate must frequently move up to 10 pounds and occasionally move up to 25 pounds.


Work Environment:


The work environment characteristics described here are representative of those an associate encounters while performing the essential functions of this job. While the job is generally performed in an office environment, the associate is occasionally exposed to wet and/or humid conditions, areas in which moving mechanical parts, fumes, toxic or caustic chemicals are present, and outside weather conditions. The noise level in the office environment is typically quiet, but the associate may be occasionally exposed to loud noise levels. Minimal travel is required for this position (up to 20% of the time and on a domestic basis).

Estimated Salary: $20 to $28 per hour based on qualifications.

The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
